About This Quiz

It's not cheap to be a woman, literally! New York's Department of Consumer Affairs released a study in 2015 to prove it.

When it comes to the items that people use on an everyday basis, you may be surprised to find out that more than four out of five times the female version of that item will cost more that its male counterpart. This practice is sometimes referred to as a pink tax. This pink tax does not only apply to adult women and items that are marketed to them. In fact, studies have shown that the effects of this price discrimination can be seen from birth up until women are senior citizens!

This quiz takes in a wide and comprehensive range of everyday items, from digestive health aids and onesies for babies, to razor cartridges and shaving cream. We've made sure that a large selection of everyday products are covered! However, that is not to say that literally every everyday item is cheaper to purchase for men. There are a few healthcare and beauty products that end up with higher costs for males, but overall these higher costs for men are still less significant that those that females are subjected to. And don't forget that women often earn less than their male counterparts.

So c'mon and get ready to challenge your shopping knowledge with this quiz!
